What are the benefits of trading via TradingView?

By trading directly through TradingView’s Trading Panel, you can skip a step and avoid logging into your exchange account to execute buy and sell orders. Instead, orders can be placed directly on the TV chart for quicker execution. Furthermore, because TradingView has countless indicators, user-made trading strategies and support for Pine scripts, you can even automate trading based on certain indicators. For example, you can automatically place buy or sell orders in case your RSI indicator detects a divergence. Keep in mind that exact trading capabilities can depend on your chosen exchange, and certain features may require a paid TradingView account.

Is trading through TradingView safe?

When it comes to security, there are certain pros and cons to trading through TV. First of all, TradingView is one of the most popular charting tools in existence, and is safe, reliable and trusted by millions. The TV platform is safe, but it doesn’t enforce some of the same security features as most crypto exchanges. For example, using 2FA (2-factor authentication) is not mandatory (you can optionally activate it, though). Crypto exchanges have additional account security measures in place such as IP checks, device whitelists, login notifications, etc. It’s important to note that connecting an exchange account with TradingView to place trades gives limited access to TV. For example, only crypto trading may be available, whereas features such as withdrawals are impossible to access through TV. This means that even in case your TV account is compromised, access to your exchange assets will be limited. Furthermore, most exchanges will limit access to funds in “Futures” or “Spot” wallet, and not allow access to funds within “Funding”, “Staking”, or similar wallets. Depending on exchange, you may be able to limit access to funds even further. To limit the risk to your trading accounts, it’s best to keep funds in a separate trading wallet, and withdraw profits on a regular basis. By trading directly via TradingView charts you don’t need to log into exchange account as often, so in some cases it can even be safer to trade through TV.

Does TradingView need my exchange account password?

No, TradingView does not need nor will ask for your exchange login and password. You should never provide your exchange password to anyone, not even employees of exchanges or any other companies. Connecting your exchange account with TradingView account is done through a different method, or may alternatively be completed through an API key, but never your regular login password. You will likely be required to re-input your login credentials to confirm the connection, but this is always done directly on the exchange website (always check your browser address bar to ensure this is case).

How to delete TradingView connection with an exchange?

Third party service connections such as the one with TradingView are typically found in your exchange account's "Security" settings. To delete TradingView connection on HTX, visit your account's Security settings, scroll down to the bottom, and click the "Delete" link under Authorization Management. You can also Logout from an exchange account in TradingView's Trading Panel. This will require re-authorizing before you are able to trade again. For safety reasons, it's always best to complete remove all unused connections through your exchange's security settings.

By trading directly through TradingView’s Trading Panel, you can skip a step and avoid logging into your exchange account to execute buy and sell orders. Instead, orders can be placed directly on the TV chart for quicker execution.

Furthermore, because TradingView has countless indicators, user-made trading strategies and support for Pine scripts, you can even automate trading based on certain indicators. For example, you can automatically place buy or sell orders in case your RSI indicator detects a divergence.

Keep in mind that exact trading capabilities can depend on your chosen exchange, and certain features may require a paid TradingView account.
Is trading through TradingView safe?
When it comes to security, there are certain pros and cons to trading through TV. First of all, TradingView is one of the most popular charting tools in existence, and is safe, reliable and trusted by millions.

The TV platform is safe, but it doesn’t enforce some of the same security features as most crypto exchanges. For example, using 2FA (2-factor authentication) is not mandatory (you can optionally activate it, though). Crypto exchanges have additional account security measures in place such as IP checks, device whitelists, login notifications, etc.

It’s important to note that connecting an exchange account with TradingView to place trades gives limited access to TV. For example, only crypto trading may be available, whereas features such as withdrawals are impossible to access through TV. This means that even in case your TV account is compromised, access to your exchange assets will be limited.

Furthermore, most exchanges will limit access to funds in “Futures” or “Spot” wallet, and not allow access to funds within “Funding”, “Staking”, or similar wallets. Depending on exchange, you may be able to limit access to funds even further.

To limit the risk to your trading accounts, it’s best to keep funds in a separate trading wallet, and withdraw profits on a regular basis.

By trading directly via TradingView charts you don’t need to log into exchange account as often, so in some cases it can even be safer to trade through TV.
Does TradingView need my exchange account password?
No, TradingView does not need nor will ask for your exchange login and password. You should never provide your exchange password to anyone, not even employees of exchanges or any other companies.

Connecting your exchange account with TradingView account is done through a different method, or may alternatively be completed through an API key, but never your regular login password. You will likely be required to re-input your login credentials to confirm the connection, but this is always done directly on the exchange website (always check your browser address bar to ensure this is case).
How to delete TradingView connection with an exchange?
Third party service connections such as the one with TradingView are typically found in your exchange account's "Security" settings.

To delete TradingView connection on HTX, visit your account's Security settings, scroll down to the bottom, and click the "Delete" link under Authorization Management.

You can also Logout from an exchange account in TradingView's Trading Panel. This will require re-authorizing before you are able to trade again. For safety reasons, it's always best to complete remove all unused connections through your exchange's security settings.

Connecting TradingView With Exchange Account – Step by Step Tutorial

Connecting a TV account with any exchange account is very simple as long as you use an exchange marked as a trusted broker (see above for full list).

In our tutorial we will briefly take a look at connecting TradingView and HTX exchange.

Step 1: Visit TradingView and open the “Trading Panel”

The Trading Panel tab can be found in the bottom of TradingView’s trading screens, below your chart and indicators.

Next, scroll down through the list of trusted brokers and choose your desired exchange. Alternatively, you can explore brokers on https://www.tradingview.com/brokers/.

Step 2: Select your broker

Once you click on your desired broker (exchange), a popup will appear. Click the “Connect” button as shown.

Once you click “Connect”, you will be taken to the exchange website (in our example, HTX).

Step 3: Authorize the connection on your crypto exchange

If you’re not already logged into HTX, you will need to re-confirm your username and password.

Note: For additional safety, check your browser URL to ensure you are on HTX.com or other official exchange website.

Step 4: Confirm authorization

Next screen will ask you to confirm the authorization. You will see all permissions TradingView will get for your account. This should never include any withdrawal permissions.

For most exchanges, permissions as shown should be sufficient. At a minimum, TV needs to see your account balances, and open and close positions.

Tip: Depending on exchange capability, you may be able to use subaccounts to further isolate access, or hide full account balances for privacy.

Step 5: Return to TradingView and trade

Upon confirmation in previous step, you will be taken to TradingView’s website, and you can start trading immediately.

You can connect multiple exchanges at the same time, and easily swap between them as shown in the image.

By clicking on the “Trade” button, a new panel will also open. You can place your buy or sell orders through this order panel.

You can also automate trading with various TradingView indicators or scripts, but make sure you first test things thoroughly.

The entire process of connecting accounts only takes a few minutes and is very simple. Using any trusted brokers ensure you don’t need to deal with API keys or complex configurations.

Keep in mind that TradingView might not support advanced order types, such as iceberg, grid bots, or similar. Exact capabilities may depend on your chosen exchange, and some features on TV require paid plans.
