PrimeXBT Review – What is PrimeXBT?
PrimeXBT is a crypto derivatives platform operating since 2018. This cryptocurrency exchange does not offer the greatest selection of altcoins or the most amount of features. Instead, it provides an excellent user experience, easy trading, and fantastic signup bonuses.
On top of it, PrimeXBT’s strength lies in convenient trading of non-cryptocurrency markets. You can trade forex, stock indices, and commodities. All these markets can be traded with very reasonable fees, high leverage, and good volume and liquidity.
Our PrimeXBT review will do a comprehensive analysis of this trading platform. We’ll cover the basics such as account creation, deposits, withdrawals, and KYC requirements. We will also demonstrate how to trade on PrimeXBT, and cover the platform’s security features, fees, customer reviews, available trading assets, and other factors.
Why use PrimeXBT?
PrimeXBT is a crypto futures and CFD platform with over 100 listed assets. While the exchange is very easy to use overall, this type of trading is intended for experienced investors.
As such, this platform might not be suitable for novice traders. It’s best for experienced traders who want exposure to crypto and stocks or forex at the same time.
- Fiat deposits and withdrawals through bank transfers and cards.
- No deposit fees for crypto.
- Trade most popular commodities including gold, silver, oil, and more.
- Trade popular stock indices such as SP500, Nasdaq, Dow, and others.
- Trade forex including USD, AUD, CAD, EUR, CHF, JPY, GBP and more.
- Cheap trading fees.
- High leverage available, up to 1000x on crypto futures and 200x on CFDs.
- Optional KYC (identity verification).
- No crypto spot trading.
- Only 30+ crypto assets available to trade.
- Lack of advanced account security features.
- Lack of transparency and verifiable third party volume and other data from tracking and other websites.
In the rest of this review we will go over every feature and aspect of PrimeXBT, leaving no stone unturned.
User Interface – Is PrimeXBT good for beginners?
PrimeXBT provides a very easy to learn interface. There’s no aspect of this exchange’s UI that we found in any way confusing. In fact, it’s very clean and easy to navigate.
However, there will be a bit of a learning curve involved, even for those who used crypto exchanges before. PrimeXBT has a somewhat unique interface, so those coming from other platforms might not immediately be familiar with it.
Let’s go over some basic functions such as account creation, deposits, and withdrawals.
Account registration
For account registration on PrimeXBT, you can use your standard option of email and password. Alternatively, you can also log in with your Apple or Google account.
Once you type in your email and password, you will be required to confirm the email with a PIN code sent to your inbox. Once confirmed, the platform will immediately redirect you to its trading interface.
While this isn’t a particularly welcoming experience for new users, it does ask if you want to go through tutorials first. Click the “Let’s go” button, because they will only take a minute and explain the very basics of the trading interface.
Normally, we would expect to get redirected to the Deposit page, but it’s still just a click away.
Welcome bonuses and new user rewards
PrimeXBT doesn’t kid around when it comes to rewarding new users. The “Rewards center“, found in main menu, will give you a rundown of available bonuses you can claim.
- $1,800 in deposit bonuses.
- $1,125 in trading bonuses.
Deposit bonuses
PrimeXBT will give you a 20% bonus to your initial deposit, here’s a breakdown:
- $500 deposit = $100 bonus
- $1,000 deposit = $200 bonus
- $2,500 deposit = $500 bonus
- $5,000 deposit = $1,000 bonus
The first $100 bonus must be claimed within 48 hours of creating your account. However, the bonus funds have no expiration. You can use received bonus funds for trading at any time. You can use the bonuses to increase position sizes or as collateral, just like regular cash.
Of course, we had to take advantage of the easy bonus and test it, so we did a $500 deposit to get a $100 welcome bonus. We deposited $500 in USDT (but any currency will work), and transferred the funds to our crypto futures trading account.
The $100 bonus was credited instantly after transferring funds from our wallet to a trading account. You can transfer funds either to Crypto Futures, or CFD Trading accounts, as these are separate.
Additional deposit bonuses are available, depending on amount. If you deposit over $1,000, you will receive a $200 bonus to your trading account. Depositing $2,500 gives you a $500 bonus, and depositing $5,000 gives you a $1,000 deposit bonus in your trading account.
It’s important to note that bonus funds can not be directly withdrawn, and must be used for trading. In addition, these funds can not be used to cover losses, and will only function as collateral or to increase position size. Moving funds from your trading account back to your wallet will also remove any unused bonus.
Trading volume bonuses
Furthermore, the Rewards center has trading volume tasks you can complete to claim additional rewards. These are not great for beginner and small-time traders, but they are still very achievable for those trading derivatives frequently.
You need to do $7 million in crypto margin trading volume for another $1,000 bonus, which is not as difficult as it sounds. A low 5-figure trading account can do this in a few weeks with just a couple of trades a day.
Again, all these bonuses are funds you can trade with. There’s truly no reason not to claim them. Overall, PrimeXBT’s bonuses are easier to get compared to many other crypto exchanges we reviewed.
Deposits – How to deposit funds on PrimeXBT
Selecting “Accounts” in the website’s main menu will take you to your assets. From here, you can view your current balances.
Next, you will be asked to choose from one of the available deposit options:
- Deposit Crypto: on-chain deposit of cryptocurrency assets.
- Deposit Money: deposit fiat through bank card, or other methods (depends on country).
- Buy Crypto: this is the typical crypto purchase experience letting you deposit with bank transfers or cards and convert fiat to cryptocurrency.
Depositing crypto
Depositing crypto assets to PrimeXBT is the cheapest way to get funds on the platform. You will pay standard blockchain transaction fees, and PrimeXBT will not charge any additional deposit fees.
PrimeXBT has a very limited selection of cryptocurrencies you can deposit. These include USDT (Tether), USDT, Bitcoin, and Ethereum.
- For Ethereum (ETH), you can use ERC-20 mainnet, or BEP-20 (BNB Smart Chain) network for lower fees.
- For USDT and USDC, you can use ERC-20, BEP-20, or TRC-20 networks.
For cheapest fees, we recommend using BEP-20 or TRC-20. Transaction fee should be under $1 on these networks.
For convenience, the interface has a “Connect MetaMask” button in the bottom too. This lets you transfer funds from your existing decentralized wallet with ease.
We tested multiple deposits through BEP-20 network. As soon as the transactions were processed on the blockchain, PrimeXBT credited our account with the funds within a couple of minutes. Zero issues whatsoever.
Depositing fiat
You can also deposit your local currency through bank transfers, credit and debit cards, and other payment methods. These other payment methods will depend on your country selection.
Aside from standard bank transfers and cards, most countries have Perfect Money and Volet available. You must select your country for a full list of available fiat deposits methods. Every deposit method will have different fees associated.
You will be able to deposit up to $2,000 without verification. But, using bank cards will always require verification.
Buying cryptocurrency
Last option to deposit funds on this crypto trading platform is to buy crypto through Baksta, a 3rd party payment provider used by PrimeXBT. Baksta is a Lithuanian virtual currency exchange operator accepting Visa and Mastercard.
We do not recommend using this deposit method due to very unfavorable exchange rates. Instead, you should consider using a cheap or feeless fiat gateway such as Bybit or Binance, and then transfer cryptocurrency assets over to PrimeXBT.
Nevertheless, we applaud PrimeXBT for adding convenient fiat deposit options for those who may not care about fees. Completing any deposits for us was simple and straightforward.
Withdrawals – How to withdraw money from PrimeXBT
Withdrawing funds is as simple as going to “Accounts” in the menu, then selecting “Withdraw” option.
By default, PrimeXBT will have you select cryptocurrency. These are standard crypto withdrawals and there is nothing complex about them. Just make sure to use the right asset and matching networks for withdrawal and your external deposit address.
Similarly to crypto deposits, PrimeXBT will let you withdraw BTC, ETH, USDT, and USDC.
PrimeXBT will also let you withdraw fiat. You can select between Volet and Perfect Money, but you will need to select your currency and country in order to view all available withdrawal methods.
It’s important to note that this broker processes fiat withdrawals during working hours. Because of this, you may need to wait up to 24 hours in order for your fiat withdrawals to be sent. This isn’t the case with crypto withdraws: they were processed within 12 hours for us, so keep that in mind in case you need to access your funds immediately.
Adding a new withdrawal address will require PIN confirmation which will be sent to your email address. This essentially functions as a withdrawal whitelist.
In addition, each separate withdrawal attempt will also ask you for a confirmation PIN. We received this immediately upon requesting fund withdrawal. We didn’t bind Google’s Authenticator app to our PrimeXBT account, so withdrawing only asked us for email confirmation. Regardless, this 2FA is an essential security measure and we’re glad this exchange has it.
Withdrawal fees and limits
- BTC withdrawal fee is fixed at 0.0005 BTC.
- Other crypto withdrawals have fees depending on network used – from $0.5 on TRC-20 to $10 on ERC-20.
- Cash withdraw via Perfect Money has a fixed $5 fee.
- Fiat withdraw can only be done through methods previously used to deposit.
- There is a $20,000 daily withdrawal limit for unverified accounts that didn’t complete KYC.
KYC – Does PrimeXBT need identity verification?
PrimeXBT does not require identity verification (KYC) for basic deposit, withdrawal and trading.
Without KYC, you can:
- Deposit any amount of cryptocurrency.
- Deposit up to $2,000 in local currency through bank transfers and 3rd party payment methods.
- Withdraw up to $20,000 per day.
- Trade any markets without restrictions.
Completing KYC on PrimeXBT removes fiat deposit and withdrawal restrictions, and lets you withdraw any amount of assets without daily limits.
Completing KYC is just as easy as other crypto exchanges. You upload a photo of your ID document, do a quick selfie with your webcam or phone camera, and that’s it. The entire process shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes.
Out of major markets, PrimeXBT is restricted in United States, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, and Russia. There are several more territory and country restrictions, and you can view a full list in our PrimeXBT restricted countries section. Make sure you are not located in any of the restricted regions before you attempt to complete KYC.
Trading – How to trade on PrimeXBT
PrimeXBT does not let you trade spot crypto as regular exchanges. You can hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, and two stablecoins – USDT and USDC, in your account. You can swap between those currencies, too.
However, PrimeXBT is primarily a derivatives platform, and is not currently supporting traditional spot holding or swaps. We normally do not list exchanges like this, but due to PrimeXBT’s convenience, ease of use, and an excellent selection of stocks and commodities we made an exception.
So, let’s go over the trading options on PrimeXBT and explain how it works.
Trading crypto futures
Crypto futures trading is our bread and butter, so we had to test it out. On PrimeXBT, we found a familiar interface, with standard TradingView chart, positions, orders and position history, and market, limit and stop orders for longing or shorting assets.
We were able to hide the order book and market trades, thankfully. The charts also support dragging to quickly adjust TP and SL levels, and we always like this convenience.
The interface isn’t particularly adjustable. You won’t be able to resize or reorder elements. Regardless, we didn’t notice any need to rearrange things either, because we didn’t find any issues with the default layout.
Available assets
PrimeXBT does not have hundreds of crypto assets like most exchanges. Their selection of crypto assets on futures trading is limited to just over 30 coins. These include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Dogecoin, Polkadot, Fantom, Algorand, Cardano, Binance Coin, Litecoin, XRP, Theta, Stellar, Uniswap, and few dozen more.
Day traders focusing on just a few popular crypto assets will find the selection sufficient. Other investors who prefer to trade low-cap altcoins will likely need to find a wider selection elsewhere.
Futures trading fees
On crypto futures, PrimeXBT will charge a 0.01% fee for maker, and 0.02% for taker. This makes futures trading fees on PrimeXBT cheaper compared to many other crypto trading platforms. Most will charge between 0.01%-0.02% maker and 0.05% taker fees.
However, we have fee discount codes available for many other exchanges, which can reduce their regular fees substantially. We do not have a PrimeXBT fee discount code, therefore their default fees will be fixed.
Trading CFDs – User interface
One of the best things about trading on PrimeXBT is the easy swap between crypto futures to traditional markets. PrimeXBT lets you trade dozens of foreign currencies, commodities such as gold and silver, and stock indices such as Nasdaq or SP500.
Trading interface for forex, commodities and stock markets is a bit more customizable compared to crypto futures. It will let you rearrange certain elements, add multiple different charts for easier comparisons, etc. The options can be accessed by clicking on the “+” as indicated in the image below.
Experienced crypto traders will notice some differences between CFD trading and crypto futures trading that will require a small adjustment period. However, it’s all very intuitive and easy to learn.
Trading Forex
You can trade a good variety of traditional currencies and pairs on PrimeXBT. Most popular ones include:
- US Dollar (USD)
- Australian Dollar (AUD)
- New Zealand Dollar (NZD)
- Canadian Dollar (CAD)
- Swiss Franc (CHF)
- Euros (EUR)
Other currencies supported include British Pounds (GBP), Thai Baht (THB), Japanese Yen (JPY), Singapore Dollar (SGD), Hong Kong Dollar (HKD), Mexican Peso (MXN), South African Rand (ZAR), and Chinese Yuan (CNH).
All currencies can be traded against the U.S. dollar, but many also have multiple trading pairs. For example, you can directly trade between British Pounds and Japanese Yen.
In addition, you can trade several major traditional currencies against gold and silver. If you expect gold prices to rise but Euros to fall, you can trade it here.
Forex trading fees are 0%. Instead of fees, the exchange earns with spreads and financing fees charged every 24 hours for open positions. Worth pointing out is that you are able to use up to 1000x maximum leverage on PrimeXBT’s forex market.
Trading Commodities
Commodities trading on PrimeXBT supports ten different assets. These of course include most popular Gold and Silver. Additionally, you can trade copper, aluminum, natural gas, oil, lead, nickel, and zinc.
Commodity trading has no trading fees either, but will charge spreads and financing fees. 24h financing fees for Gold are 0.023% for longs, and 0.003% for shorts. Other assets have even lower financing.
Maximum leverage you can apply on Commodity trading is 500x for gold and silver, and 100x on other commodities.
Trading Indices
Trading any popular stock index on PrimeXBT is equally simple. You can bet on US SPX500, NASDAQ, and Dow Jones. Furthermore, you can trade other major stock markets such as Europe, France, Spain, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, and UK.
This selection gives you exposure to the world’s biggest stock markets. Once again, there are no trading fees, and instead you need to pay overnight swap fees. These are different depending on stock index — for example, 0.0307% long position swap, and 0.0001% short position swap on SPX500.
Visit PrimeXBT’s Fees page to a more detailed and live overview of current fees. You can use maximum 100x leverage when trading stock indices.
You can not currently trade individual stocks on PrimeXBT. Perhaps this is something they will add in the future. BingX for example has a great selection of popular stocks including Tesla, Apple, Netflix, Microsoft, Google, and others.
Copytrading
PrimeXBT also has a copytrading feature, letting you automatically copy the trades done by expert traders.
PrimeXBT provides a good interface where you can easily see recent trades and historical performance of each expert trader.
That being said, copytrading is generally aimed at beginners, but it’s important to be very cautious with it. In our extensive testing on multiple crypto exchanges, we never found it wise or profitable to let strangers manage investments.
Native Token – Does PrimeXBT have a native crypto token?
PrimeXBT doesn’t have its own native token. However, the exchange uses Covesting (COV) token for some benefits. COV tokens main benefit comes with incentive schemes on the copy trading feature (increased follower’s profit share, increased following limits, and reduced fees for strategy managers). COV can also be used as collateral for regular trading.
It’s important to note that Covesting isn’t even being tracked by CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko, It previously got delisted from major CEXs, and its social accounts lack any recent activity. We do not recommend investing in this token.
When it comes to overall benefits, we found COV very underwhelming to use. Most exchanges with native tokens will let you reduce trading fees with them, but that is not the case on PrimeXBT.
Mobile App – Is PrimeXBT’s mobile app good?
PrimeXBT has an iOS and Android mobile apps. Both apps will let you access the full range of trading features on the exchange. You will be able to trade, manage your positions and view live charts on 100+ markets that are available on the platform.
We haven’t found any major or important issues with the app. It functions well, lets you view your wallets, engage in trades, and view basic charts. It does lack some advances features that would improve its overall usability such as watchlists.
iOS app user reviews
Apple users praise the PrimeXBT Trading & Investing app for its user-friendly interface and diverse features. Many value its versatility, allowing trades across cryptocurrencies, forex, and commodities from one platform. The app’s advanced trading tools, responsive customer support, and smooth bank card integration are appreciated.
However, some users noted drawbacks, like the lack of lot sizes in limit orders, which complicates trading during high volatility. They suggested adding more visual trading tools similar to Bybit or Binance. The absence of quick order placements using TradingView tools was also criticized. Occasional bugs and crashes were reported, affecting the trading experience and indicating a need for technical improvements.
On Apple’s App Store, iOS users rated the trading app with 4.6 our of 5 stars.
Android user reviews
On Google’s Play store, PrimeXBT’s mobile app is frequently praised for its user-friendly interface and robust features. Users enjoy being able to trade over 100 instruments, including cryptocurrencies, forex, and commodities. A few traders also appreciate the 24/7 live customer support and biometric authentication options for enhanced security. The convenience of buying crypto directly and participating in copy trading are also highlighted as major advantages.
However, users have reported occasional technical issues and bugs disrupting trading. Some mention the app can be slow or crash during critical moments, leading to missed opportunities. Others note the lack of advanced trading tools compared to the desktop version, high fees, and complexity for beginners, suggesting it may not be ideal for novice traders.
Android users rate the app at 4.2 on phone, and 4.5 on tablet devices.
PrimeXBT web version doesn’t have a ton of advanced trading and financial services such as margin, loans, staking or other features, so the app appears somewhat rudimentary in comparison with those of other crypto exchanges. But overall, PrimeXBT mobile apps allow for basic trading, and it functions well.
Safety & Security – Are funds safe on PrimeXBT?
In crypto, safety is paramount. In its brief history, cryptocurrency market taught us many times the importance of trading and investing on reputable exchanges. We did a deep dive into PrimeXBT’s security features, reviews and feedback, company information, regulatory approvals and more, all in an effort to try and figure out if this exchange will keep our money safe.
Company information
Company information and details are easily available and clearly visible on their website’s footer. They provide different services through three different companies, registered in Marshall Islands, Seychelles, and Saint Lucia.
- Crypto trading and buying services are done through Baksta company, registered in Lithuania with the Financial Crime Investigation Service (FCIS) as a Virtual Currency Exchange Operator & Depository Virtual Currency Wallet Operator.
- None of the companies seem to be regulated in other jurisdictions and are not holding any government or institutional licenses or approvals.
- PrimeXBT does not knowingly service customers in United States, Canada, and several sanctioned countries and regions.
- Comprehensive agreements, terms of usage and policies are published on the website, explaining their operations, complaints procedure, anti-money laundering policies, and other terms and conditions.
Asset safety
PrimeXBT employs a robust cybersecurity framework designed to safeguard assets, funds, and data from any potential threats.
- Hardware Security Modules (HSMs): Utilized at FIPS PUB 140-2 Level 3 or higher, and placed in secure data centers globally.
- Risk Assessment: Conducted after each order to ensure comprehensive security.
- Cold Storage: Digital assets are stored using Multisignature technology for enhanced security.
Furthermore, PrimeXBT does continuous IT security measures, such as frequent evaluations to detect and fix new issues, and penetration tests to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities. These stringent measures ensure that your investments are secure at all times.
We were not able to find any Cer.live or other 3rd party security certifications or tests for PrimeXBT. Additionally, we are unable to verify which percentage of customer deposits are stored in cold storage, and how much is stored in hot wallets.
Reputation
We checked PrimeXBT’s reputation and feedback on Reddit, TrustPilot, and several other independent sources. We did not find any unusual red flags that would indicate any concerns.
In fact, this broker has a fairly good reputation and user feedback. On TrustPilot, we found it to have a 4.5 out of 5 stars rating, which is uncommonly high for crypto exchanges.
Most of the negative feedback on social media and Reddit seem to be focused on slow app performances during market volatility, issues with missing deposits, withdrawal delays, and lack of certain advanced trading features.
We also noticed that the company constantly replies to user feedback on multiple platforms, and does a good job to listen to customers and provide solutions or suggestions to fix their issues.
Account security
When it comes to account security, PrimeXBT only has the very basics:
- PrimeXBT forces a relatively strong password, requiring you to use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers.
- 2-factor authentication (2FA) is available through Google Authenticator app. Using 2FA is optional on this exchange.
- Adding new withdrawal addresses, and withdrawing money to existing ones will require 2FA confirmation with your email.
There are no additional 2FA methods, anti-phishing codes, trading PINs, withdrawal passwords, whitelists, or other advanced account security features commonly found on crypto exchanges. Because PrimeXBT has been operating since 2018, we found it a little bit disappointing that it hasn’t implemented additional account security methods.
Other safety & trust factors
PrimeXBT is a member of The Financial Commission, and thus provides coverage up to $20,000 per client through the Compensation Fund, which only applies to judgments issued by the Financial Commission. In case of disputes, you may be compensated from this fund.
Since December 2024, PrimeXBT is also fully regulated by FCSA in South Africa.
So, is PrimeXBT scam or safe?
Overall, we haven’t seen any cause for concern. PrimeXBT is not a major exchange, and isn’t regulated by any international laws (aside from laws in countries where the company operates from). PrimeXBT is a no-kyc crypto exchange, which means the lack of regulatory approvals is expected.
Here are the most important safety factors to consider:
- PrimeXBT has been operating since 2018.
- There are no known previous major security incidents or breaches.
- Companies under which PrimeXBT operates are not regulated by any major government bodies or institutions.
- Exchange does not publish any proof of reserves data.
- PrimeXBT constantly participates in various blockchain conferences and public events.
- According to PrimeXBT’s Linkedin, they have between 200 and 500 employees.
- Exchange claims to use cold storage for customer deposits, but we do not have any details about asset allocation.
- There is no publicly verifiable data about exchange’s reserves.
- Very basic account security features are available.
As said, we haven’t seen any indication that PrimeXBT is a scam or in any way fraudulent exchange. In fact, their reputation is exceptionally good for a smaller exchange.
Because PrimeXBT does not have spot trading, it is not ranked or rated by websites such as CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko. Their crypto derivatives volume is ranging from top 25-70 out of all exchanges. This number excludes volume of CFD market trading.
All in all, you should always make sure to only keep funds necessary for trading on any crypto exchange. PrimeXBT offers very high leverage, meaning you can easily keep majority of your assets in safe storage, and trade with a small portion of your portfolio.
Customer Support – How to get help on PrimeXBT?
If you need help, you can reach PrimeXBT support staff through email or live chat. Customer support is available 24/7.
Their Help Center has basic articles on how to use the exchange, categorized into Deposit & Withdrawal issues, Trading guides, Earning explanations, and Account Management questions. Most questions can probably be answered in the Help Center, but it isn’t as comprehensive compared to many other exchanges.
PrimeXBT also has a vibrant multi-lingual community and social media. These are not official support channels, buy you may be able to get basic help through Discord, Reddit, or Telegram. Just make sure to never send any personal data through these channels, and always triple-check to ensure you are contacting official staff members.

Final verdict – Is PrimeXBT a good exchange?
Our PrimeXBT review went through all available features of the exchange. We also looked at data on other websites, including feedback and customer reviews. We rated each aspect, and the final results are:
PrimeXBT is intended for day traders who want to easily trade crypto futures with high leverage, and have access to traditional markets on the same platform. Being able to trade crypto, stock indices, commodities and forex on one platform is rare amongst cryptocurrency exchanges we normally review. This is also PrimeXBT’s biggest upside.
On the other hand, there are definitely downsides. No spot trading for crypto is uncommon, but may not be relevant to some traders who only care about derivatives. Lack of account security features, reserves data, and very limited 3rd party data about this exchange is a little bit concerning, but we hope all of this will improve soon.
Our final impression is that PrimeXBT is an average exchange for crypto futures trading, below average for everything else crypto-related, and very good for CFD trading. Privacy-conscious traders may discover that this NO-KYC trading platform offers a good set of tools to profit from both crypto and traditional markets.
