Most crypto exchanges are focused solely on trading cryptocurrency. A few are looking to expand their services and let customers trade traditional markets: stock indices, forex, stocks, commodities and other assets.
Traditional markets are often correlated with crypto movements. The US dollar index (DXY) going up typically means S&P 500 is going down. S&P500 going down often translates into Bitcoin’s price dropping as well. This correlation between different and seemingly unrelated assets is why many crypto traders are paying very close attention to traditional market movements and charts.
