Quickly compare crypto trading and fiat deposit fees for every exchange reviewed on Cexfinder.
Cheapest Exchanges For Fiat Deposits
All exchanges listed will let you deposit cryptocurrency without fees. However, depositing local fiat currency such as USD or EUR will often have different fees associated:
- Fiat deposit fees depend on payment method and currency used. Typically, bank transfer deposits are much cheaper compared to card deposits.
- Credit and debit card deposit fees will depend on chosen payment provider and local fiat currency used.
- Your bank may charge additional transaction fees – our overview can only cover exchange fees.
The following CEXs have cheapest fiat deposits:
- MEXC: MEXC has some of the lowest fiat deposit fees. You can deposit through SEPA bank transfers or bank cards, and the exchange is currently charging bare minimum in fees, with some deposits being completely free. Visit MEXC
- Binance: Bank transfer fees are zero or close to nothing on Binance. In periods when Binance does charge fiat deposit fees, they are usually set to only $1/€1 regardless of deposit amount. Visit Binance
- Bybit: SEPA deposit fees are 0.19%, with a €1 minimum charge. SWIFT bank payment fees are set to 0.51%. In addition, you can use a 3rd party payment processor Zen on Bybit, which charges 0.92% per transaction (supports cards and bank transfers). Visit Bybit
- BingX: No fees charged for SEPA bank deposits (promotional period). Card deposit charges depend on selected provider, and are generally high (close to 4%). Visit BingX
- CEX.IO: SWIFT bank deposits are set to only 0.1%, but have a minimum charge of 10 USD, GBP or EUR. US domestic wires and SEPA have a flat fee of $2.99. Visa and Mastercard deposit fees start at 0.49%, plus have additional unspecified service charges climbing up to 5%. Visit CEX.IO
Other excellent fiat to crypto on-ramps include KuCoin, OKX, Bitget, and Gate. Gemini has reasonable flat fees, suitable for larger and infrequent purchases. Coinbase, Kraken and Crypto.com are popular fiat gateways, but their trading fees can be very high.
Best exchanges for first Bitcoin buy:
Most exchanges will let you directly buy altcoins with fiat. For example, you can buy Dogecoin with your credit card to avoid additional trading fees. By trading crypto-to-crypto later on (for example swapping Dogecoin for Ethereum) you will be charged a trading fee.
Exchange Trading Fees Explained
All exchanges will charge fees for buying, selling, or trading cryptocurrency. For those new to crypto investing, here’s a breakdown and explanation of trading fees you can expect to pay, ways to reduce trade fees, and other fee-related questions.
Markets: Spot vs. Futures
- Spot refers to typical spot buying – purchasing Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other cryptocurrency, with the ability to withdraw it from exchanges to other wallets. If you simply want to own some Bitcoin, you will be trading it on Spot market.
- Futures refers to derivatives markets and perpetuals trading (i.e. not owning the underlying asset). This allows longing and shorting assets for the purposes of trading. Futures markets are intended for day trading and speculating on prices, not for long-term asset holding.
Fee Type: Taker vs. Maker
Simply put, Maker order is the minimum trading fee you will pay for buying or selling a crypto asset. On the other hand, Taker order is the maximum fee you will pay.
- Placing a limit buy order below current market price, or placing a limit sell order above current market price (i.e. position not filled immediately at market price, but is instead added to the order book and filled if price reaches your set level) will count as maker order.
- Maker order example: asset price is $10. Placing a buy order at $9 will not immediately fill, thus adding to the order book. Once your order is filled, you will be charged a maker fee. If current asset price is $10 and you place a buy order at $11, your order will be filled immediately and you will be charged a taker fee.
- Taker orders are buys or sells that fill immediately at any current market price, or orders filled through quick convert.

How to Reduce Trading Fees
Most exchanges have additional ways to reduce trading fees. These methods include native token fee discounts, VIP level discounts, referral code discounts, and signup bonuses.
1. Referral fee discounts
Easiest way to get substantial fee discounts at no cost or drawback is to use a referral code during signup. Cexfinder community enjoys special percentage fee discounts (rebates) on many exchanges. Simply using our signup links or referral/invitation codes during account registration makes you eligible for a lifetime fee discount. Only exception is Bybit, where the fee discount only lasts 30 days.
There are never any costs or drawbacks associated with using these codes – they are 100% beneficial. Your privacy is also respected, and exchanges will not share any of your personal data with us. The referral discounts also stack with other methods that further reduce fees.
2. Native token discounts
Many exchanges have native tokens that can be used to reduce trading fees. Depending on exchange, this discount can be applied either by paying trade fees with the native token, or holding a specific amount or dollar equivalent of native tokens on the exchange.
On exchanges such as Binance or KuCoin you can simply buy any amount of BNB or KCS native tokens, and use these altcoins to pay for discounted trading fees. It’s best to read our exchange reviews for specifics, because each exchange has a different way of handling native token discounts.
3. VIP levels
Nearly all exchanges will let you upgrade your user status to “VIP”, resulting in substantial fee discounts. In some cases, these discounts can reduce fees to zero. VIP levels are not covered by our fees comparison table.
Each exchange has different requirements for VIP levels. These can be native token holdings, dollar-equivalent asset holdings on exchange, 30-day total trading volume, and similar requirements.
4. Signup bonuses
Signup bonuses can often be used to pay for trading fees. To obtain signup rewards, exchanges will typically require a certain amount deposited. For example, a first time deposit of $1,000 may entitle you to a $10 fee cashback. This can lead to significant savings.
On our homepage or country pages, you can use the exchange sorting option “Signup Bonus” to sort the list of exchanges by these newcomer bonuses.
Withdrawal Fees
Similarly, exchanges will charge withdraw fees. These are also dependent on asset (crypto or fiat), and method (bank transfer, card transfer, etc.). Because these fees vary greatly, for accurate and up to date deposit and withdraw fees it is best to check our reviews of each individual exchange. In some instances, no fees will be charged.
