Minimum purchase amount is €25, or equivalent value in other currencies. Mercuryo doesn’t charge any flat fees, but blockchain transactions can cost a flat fee regardless of amount. For this reason, buying the smallest possible amount isn’t always the best option.

Fees

All crypto purchases on Mercuryo have a fee up to maximum 3.95%. The fees can be cheaper depending on location, payment method, and blockchain congestion.

For selling crypto, Mercuryo will charge you also 3.95%, with a minimum of $4 or €4. To verify accuracy, you can visit the Fees page on Mercuryo’s help center.

Unlike some other fiat gateways, Mercuryo didn’t have any hidden or strange costs or spreads for us. We paid the ~4% fee as advertised, 1% spread, minus a ~$1 to process the blockchain transaction. In total, you can expect a 5% fee at most. Additional fees may be levied by your chosen exchange, but these are typically no more than 1%.

For cheapest possible fiat on-ramp option you can always explore exchanges with direct bank deposits such as Binance, OKX, Bybit, Gate.io, CEX.IO, Bitget, or KuCoin. If you need the speed and convenience where fees don’t matter, Mercuryo can be one of the cheaper fiat gateways.

Mercuryo transaction limits.

Is Mercuryo Safe?

Mercuryo has been operational since 2018, and has hundreds of clients. Their partners include some of the world’s biggest crypto exchanges, wallets, and web3 companies. Mercuryo is registered, licensed and has offices in Canada, Croatia, Italy, Spain, and United Kingdom.

The service is being used by Binance, OKX, BingX, HTX, Gate.io, Bitget, Bybit, WhiteBIT, Phemex, CoinW, MEXC, and many more centralized exchanges. It’s also integrated in Metamask, Trust Wallet, Trezor, Ledger, PancakeSwap, and many other services and apps.

The biggest fintech companies are trusting Mercuryo, so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t.

Final Thoughts – Is Mercuryo Good For Buying Crypto?

Compared with exchanges that support direct bank transfer or card payments, Mercuryo is more expensive in terms of fees. However, it’s a cheaper fiat gateway compared to most competitors, with fairly transparent and easy to understand fees.

Mercuryo is a viable option when you need to on-ramp crypto through wire transfers, cards, or mobile payment apps.
