Polygon (POL) staking can be used to obtain a regular yield on spot holdings. Originally known as MATIC, this popular Ethereum Layer 2 token has been the biggest ETH Layer 2 network for years, and continues to enjoy the highest market cap and TVL.
POL staking on CEXs (centralized exchanges) is a reliable and safe way to earn more tokens with little risk. For investors who aren’t looking to frequently trade, staking can be an appealing option to gain more tokens.
Below is our list of best exchanges for staking Polygon, compared by APY (yearly interest). For example, staking POL tokens worth $1,000 at 2% APY would give you $20 worth of POL after one year.
| Exchange: | Flexible APY: |
|---|---|
| Binance | 0.08% |
| BingX | 2.00% |
| Bybit | 1.20% |
| KuCoin | 1.00% |
| Kraken | 1.00% |
| Bitget | 2.80% |
| XT | 1.20% |

Polygon staking returns estimate
How to know exactly how much you can get by staking POL? Use our staking calculator, of course.
Keep in mind the tool will calculate based on USD value, because it’s not possible to predict POL price a year in advance.
On-chain vs. CEX staking
Polygon staking on CEXs and yields displayed in the table are typically lower compared to on-chain staking through various decentralized exchanges, wallets or protocols. Some CEXs may offer on-chain staking with better yields too. Keep in mind that on-chain staking can come with other drawbacks (locked duration, higher risk, etc.).
APYs in the table are for flexible staking, meaning you can withdraw and use your POL coins (including accumulated interest) at any time without penalties or fees.
A few things to remember:
- Savings, staking or earn programs may not be available in all countries or territories, even if an exchange is servicing your area. US and Canada are often excluded from staking, but check each exchange to ensure that is that case. Alternatively, you can use exchanges without KYC to bypass regional restrictions.
- Listed APYs are provided for comparison at publication time and may not indicate live returns. APY varies frequently due to variety of factors, and you should always check live rates on exchanges.
- We excluded temporary promotional rates, tiered rates, new user bonus yields, or other temporarily available rates. Yields displayed in the table are average and available to all customers,
Due to Polygon’s popularity, staking typically doesn’t have impressive yields. Compared to other popular ETH L2 solutions such as Arbitrum and Optimism, Polygon has the lowest yields. In fact, even Ethereum staking has better returns on most exchanges. StarkNet, for comparison, is the only ETH layer 2 with a lower CEX staking yield.
Nevertheless, getting a couple of percent in interest can add up, especially with long-term investors who hold large amounts.
